The family-run Austrian company Decor Service Fortmüller Handel GmbH, based in Bad Radkersburg, has been delighting customers for over 35 years with more than 2,000 different quality products in the non-food segment.
The issue of sustainability is also becoming increasingly important in the catering industry and the demand for environmentally-friendly solutions is growing every day.
With its new Naturally product line, the ISO-certified company is now making a significant contribution to protecting the environment, nature, and the climate: the Naturally range includes a large selection of environmentally-friendly and biodegradable disposable items made exclusively from renewable raw materials, such as wood, bamboo, corn and wheat straw.

Wood is a natural, renewable, environmentally-friendly, and biodegradable raw material. Most of the wood used to make the wood, paper, and cardboard items comes from sustainable, FSC®-certified forestry. The FSC® mark (FSC® C141761) guarantees that the wood has been harvested in a way that benefits people, animals, and the environment.

PLA: A PLASTIC MADE FROM NATURAL “INGREDIENTS”.
PLA is short for polylactide (polylactic acid) and is a biodegradable bioplastic that - to put it simply - is obtained from plant starch (e.g. corn starch). The addition of talcum powder and crystallisation creates CPLA (the “C” stands for “crystallised”), which makes the material even harder and more heat-resistant.
PLA is a genuinely environmentally-friendly alternative to conventional disposable plastic items. All PLA items are made using renewable raw materials, are petroleum-free, and are 100% biodegradable and compostable.
ROBUST, DURABLE, AND REALLY LIGHTWEIGHT - BAMBOO
Bamboo is one of the twelve subfamilies of the sweet grass family and can grow up to one meter a day. This means the plants can be harvested after just a short time. Since bamboo can be grown without pesticides, it is naturally organic.
Another advantage of bamboo as a raw material is that it is extremely strong, highly elastic, and highly durable, as well as having good dimensional stability. Bamboo is biodegradable and a sustainable resource.
These include finger food bowls, bags, wooden plates and cutlery made of FSC®-certified wood, bamboo items, organic cardboard cups, and paper drinking straws, as well as cutlery and drinking straws made from the bioplastic PLA. The FSC® mark (FSC® C141761) guarantees that the wood has been harvested in a way that benefits people, animals, and the environment.

Good for gastronomy – good for the environment
WHEAT STRAW - A RENEWABLE AND ECONOMIC RAW MATERIAL
For wheat drinking straws, the stalks of the wheat plant are cut to the required size and thoroughly cleaned before packing. Since the wheat plant is processed into food anyway, the stalks are created as a by-product and do not have to be purchased separately. This is very resource-efficient. After use, the stalks fit back into nature's cycle without leaving any residue.
Another advantage of drinking straws is that they are stable and have a long shelf life in liquids. Furthermore, the wheat straw does not transfer any taste to the drink.
